Afifidavit
An official statement of the fact under oath, signed by a person who can confirm this fact, and witnessed by someone, for example, a notary. For newspapers, this is often used to prove that an insert or legal notice was published in the newspaper on schedule.

Agate Line
A unit of measurement for newspaper advertising that measures the width of one column with 14 agate lines per inch (each equal to 1.81 mm or 0.07 inches).

Average frequency
The average number of times a person or household is exposed to an advertising schedule/campaign.

Alliance of Verified Media (AAM)
An independent non-profit organization consisting of publishers, advertisers, advertising agencies, to audit and certify the circulation of various publications. Annual audit reports show the average net paid circulation of publications (including daily and weekly issues of newspapers and magazines) and are used by advertisers when planning their marketing campaigns.

Banner
Rectangular digital advertisements that are displayed inside and around the content on a web page.

Bleed
A print covering the cropped edge of the printed page.

Brand Development Index (BDI)
An indicator of the strength of brand sales in a certain geographical area, indexed by the average value of sales in the country. BDI indicates where significant groups of brand customers reside and helps in targeting marketing efforts.

Full-format newspaper.

A form used by a media buyer to track data related to the "purchase" of media.



Circulation
The total average number of distributed copies of a publication at a set standard time (day, week, or month).

Circulation of the urban area
The target number of newspapers distributed in a certain area of the city, and not outside it.

Classified ads
Placement of ads by categories that represent products offered for sale at a fixed price for a certain period of time. The ad is usually printed in small print.

Classified Display Advertising
Classified ads with the characteristics of display ads - unclassified larger fonts, graphics and borders.

Click
When a user manually performs an action and clicks on a digital ad.

Click-through rating (CTR)
